A Different Way To Make Your Articles Work For You

I think it's a pretty well-established fact that article marketing is a great way to promote your business. But, it may not have occurred to you that there are also other ways in which you might use your articles to grow your business.

This is not for one second to suggest that you should stop submitting to directories but to point out to you that there are other things that you could be doing as well.

Here are some examples:

You could approach authority sites in your niche and offer to write for them directly in return for using a resource box at the end of anything you write for them.

With the use of any simple microphone you could speak and convert your article into audio. There are a number of free tools available that would allow you to convert this into a podcast that could be submitted to all of the podcast directories.

The above ideas are good but this next one is probably the most powerful alternative way to use your writing skills. You could barter your writing services for other things that you require to help you to build your business. This could include things like graphics, website design, video, programming or all manner of other things that you may need to help you with your business.

Once you have a skill such as writing there are a number of things that you can do with it. You can sell your writing. You can use it to promote your business directly. These are definitely things you could be doing but an extremely powerful and mostly overlooked idea would be to use your writing skills as leverage to get professional work in the areas where you're not 100% comfortable.

From talking to different people it seems to be an idea that only rarely occurs to people to barter what they're good at in return for professional work of other types.

The Internet is an ideal context for barter. One of the main problems that a lot of marketers suffer with is trying to master too many skills. With this approach you could concentrate completely on what you are good at and use that skill of writing to directly get a high-quality work you need done in other areas.

Different people have different skills and maybe it's time to embrace this and make it work for you.
