A Fresh Coat

Choosing colors to help decorate your home is easier with some advice from the experts.

That's why Shannon Kaye from the DIY network's "Fresh Coat" has teamed up with residential painting service CertaPro Painters to offer a few tips:

• Neutrals are a fun and easy way to create a crisp, clean feeling while allowing other colors to pop. Sherwin Williams has gorgeous neutral colors such as Dorian Gray, Harmonic Tan and Tony Taupe.

• Mixing neutral colors in the home with bolder shades gives dimension to any room. Don't forget to bring in your favorite accent color for a very personal touch.

• Natural colors and organic-inspired accessories suit this season's home decor palette. Glamour can be achieved with rough-hewn wooden furnishings joining the silk drapes. Tie it together with an easy color such as Sherwin Williams' Compatible Cream on the trim and something more opulent like Gladiola, a gorgeous red for the walls.
