A Guide To Amsterdam International Motor Show

Promising to be an event that can match the other main motor shows around the world, the Amsterdam International Motor Show showcases some of the best models of automobiles available internationally. In addition to this, the event also offers visitors the opportunity to test drive some of these amazing vehicles. The exhibition focuses on innovation, mobility and entertainment.

Starting on the 31st of March 2009, the Amsterdam International Motor Show will continue on till the 11th of April. The event will be hosted at one of the largest exhibition and conference centres of the Netherlands - the Amsterdam RAI. A well spaced venue like the Amsterdam RAI not only allows exhibitors to display their products efficiently but also helps visitors to easily move around the venue. The easy accessibility resulting from the venue's prime location near the heart of the city is an added bonus.

Visitors will find that it only takes a short ride of ten minutes from the Schilpol International Airport to get to the venue. This is because the Amsterdam RAI has its own train station which is at a short walkable distance from the venue and has direct connections with cities like Rotterdam and Leiden.

Located right off the A10 Ring Zuid (South Ring Motorway) exit S109, the venue can be easily accessed by those travelling by car. Additionally, visitors can also travel to the venue via public transport as there is a stop for tram line 4 and bus line 15 directly in front of the entrance of the exhibition complex.

The city has plenty of accommodation options and visitors can be sure of getting good rooms suiting their budgets and requirements. Ranging from low cost to medium to high-class and sophisticated hotels, the city of Amsterdam caters to its guests, providing functional, comfortable and luxurious accommodation accordingly.

The Amsterdam International Motor Show will also host innovative activities such as the 4 x 4 Driving Experience which will take place at the Strand Zuid. This event will give visitors and participants a chance to enjoy the sense of freedom and excitement associated with 4 x 4 driving. Another such event is the SUV Urban Challenge where visitors can compare performance levels of different cars on a track with no barriers. Both these events are open on all days of the show until 6 pm. Other highlights of the show include the Innovative Driving event and the Boulevard of Mobile Dreams show which are to be held at Congresplein on all days till 4 pm.
