A Holiday For Everyone

We all expect different things from our holidays. Our motivations are different; our priorities, diverse. Our tastes in travel are as wide-ranging as our tastes in clothes, books, food and films.

There are, however, a few well-established categories of travel possibilities that have earned themselves places as firm favourites. Here''s a look at six classic kinds of holidays to choose from:

Perfectionists amongst you may plump for the tailor made holiday. If you have fastidious tastes and high expectations then it is worthwhile for you to spend a good deal of time researching and preparing for your trip. You will book everything yourself, from flights, to hotel rooms, to evening restaurant reservations. It will be meticulously organised and designed flawlessly to meet your expectations.

Other travellers may not be so particular. If you are flexible and want an easy life, save yourself the hours of organisation and simply head to your local travel agent to see what all-inclusive package deals are currently available.

Some people like to take long holidays in order to spend sufficient time to really get a grip on the local culture of their chosen destination. They want to absorb as much tradition, folklore and linguistic knowledge as they can and a few days in the sun simply won''t do.

Conversely, other travellers are uncomfortable at the prospect of spending longer than a week away from the comforts and conveniences of home. Short holidays are enough to give them the change of scenery and a taste of something new and then they are ready to return.

There are also those who hate air travel or long journeys. This species may prefer to take domestic breaks instead. There are plenty of inspirational locations to explore right here in Britain, so if you''re on a budget or you too detest the mere prospect of boarding an aeroplane, staying closer to home could be the best solution.

If you haven''t found the perfect style of holiday for you then perhaps its time to broaden your horizons and try out a few more options. Or perhaps, for you, variety is the spice of life and there are plenty of different kinds of holidays out there waiting for you to discover them.
