A Last Minute Shopper’s Guide To Buying Mothers Day Gifts

As an avid shopper for each and every holiday or festive occasion celebrated in America, I’m a firm believer that all retail stores and websites save the best until last, (the last moment). My purchasing pattern follows that of most Americans, I buy gifts at the very last minute. It doesn’t matter what the holiday is, how great a mad rush to the shopping mall there will be or how long I have to wait in line get to a shelf or a cash register, I firmly believe that last minute shopping is the way to go if you want to buy something good. Here are a few guidelines to help you shop for your mothers day gift baskets.

The Time Span

The last minute to shop for mothers day gifts begins when there’s about two weeks left until the holiday, so roughly your mothers day shopping should begin at the latest by the start of May. If you think that you can wait another week, I can tell you it’s out of the question and if you’ve shopped in the time span of one week for mothers day gift than you’re more of a forgetful child than an accomplished shopper.

The Gift

The gift to buy will already have appeared before you, it’ll be what’s selling the hottest and most likely to go out of stock in the coming week. I found one of the best mothers day gifts in the first week of May. I had planned on buying mothers day fruit baskets for my mom and my grandma and I was just waiting for the really good stuff to come out which it did in that first week of May. There was a real rush at a store for fruit bouquets, (I’d never even heard of them before that) but one look at them and I knew they were just what I wanted! They were made entirely of fruit, different kinds of fruit like strawberries, pineapples, bananas, oranges and apples. They even had chocolate dipped strawberries and dipped pineapples shaped like daisies and hearts. There were special mothers day arrangements available and I ordered some for my mom and grandma (the store had a site to place the orders anywhere in the U.S.).

The Surprise

Apart from getting a gift for my mom, I always visit her. This doesn’t have anything to do with shopping but I get to see my mom and if the gift isn’t what she expected (this rarely happens) my being there makes up for it and I get to see he reaction when she gets her gift.
