Diabetes mellitus, generally referred to by the shorter term diabetes, is a medical condition that affects a person who has high levels of blood glucose, this can come about as a consequence of the body making inadequate quantities of the insulin hormone, or due to cells not responding to the insulin hormone synthesized in the pancreas.

There are three main kinds of diabetes as follows:

There are many symptoms linked with the condition, the major ones are an increase in the need to urinate; known as polyuria; feeling thirsty (polydipsia) and an increased hunger (polyphagia). For the age set (type 2) diabetes the advancement of these indications usually occurs slowly over time, this is due to this kind of the condition is due to lifestyle factors such as being overweight. Sometimes only some of these symptoms occur, and a person will find out that He/She has diabetes following a medical that involves analysing blood or an unexpected trip to the hospital.
