The tip is simple: Add an “alt” attribute to your images. By doing so, you give your site more search engine visibility. Search engines can't read images. But they can read the “alt” text of your images. You can include your keywords in the “alt” text. Of course, the “alt” text must also state what the image is about. For example, if you include a photo of yourself on your Web site, you can include your name in the “alt” text. This will make your web page easier to find on the search engines when people search for your name. Or let's say you have an online games Web site. Each game has a thumbnail image where the visitor clicks on them to play the game. You can include the name of the game in the “alt” text for each thumbnail image. A nice bonus when you apply this technique is that people with images turned off in their web browser can still see what the images are about. Not everyone likes images displayed when they browse Web sites. Perhaps they find the images distracting or it takes longer for Web sites to load when images are enabled. There are some web browsers that don't support images such as Lynx. Lynx is a text-only web browser that can't load images.
