A Splash Of Colour Here And There...
We often take for granted the clothes we wear, and don't give a great deal of thought to what goes into the production of the designs of these pieces. Most people will extend to knowledge of colour, and most people know that horizontal stripes don't work if you wish to create the illusion of carrying less weight. The point is, we know how to compliment ourselves and the accompanying materials in order to look (what we think is) good. But what a lot of people often neglect is the core of these pieces. A simple design on a t-shirt may not be as simple as you think. The work behind this, if the piece if designer, will indeed have been created by a true designer, and the true designer clothing labels pioneer this thinking and this attitude in order to keep one step ahead of their game. All too often something will come along - a copy - for a fraction of the price. But these imitations do lack the quality of their original counterpart. Clothing designs are influenced by all sorts of people from a variety of paths. Art school kids who listen to intelligent metal music, freehand artists with wild imaginations and urban influenced hip hop lovers. It's very much a positive thing that these clear influences exist and a large portion of the arts and fashion community have their finger on the pulse. I think the public at large, who are somewhat into clothing and fashion, should indeed embrace this culture and educate themselves also.
