A Child Suffering From Reactive Attachment Disorder Goes Through Severe Emotional Problems

Improper care and lack of proper parenting results in various emotional problems among children. While it is natural for children below 5 years to act hostile and defiant, but it becomes a disorder if it persists beyond 18 years. Children suffering from behavior problems are between 5 to 6 years. Sometimes, it becomes difficult to handle the defiance of these children as they are rude, erratic and are disrespectful to their elders. A problematic child shows typical symptoms of aggression, arguementive attitude, ignorance towards parents and elders, unsocial and impulsive.

Defiant children are subject to various disorders that often become difficult to cure, if proper medical or therapeutic treatments are not undertaken. Some of the common disorders that a disturbed child may suffer from are explained below.

Oppositional defiant disorder

Oppositional defiant disorder is characterized by irritability, anger, chronic depression, uncooperative, defiant and negativistic approach towards elders and others. Though the actual cause of ODD is not clearly known, yet, most scientists believe that it happens because of persistent negligence from parents and the lack of understanding by the parents to realize the requirements of their child. Though RAD and ODD are quite similar, yet, there is a thin line difference between the two. Unlike RAD, Oppositional defiant disorder starts when the child is a toddler and faces sever hindrance in relationship building. Most children suffering from ODD, are both mentally as well as physical weak and unfit.

Conduct Disorder

Often, the common behavior disorders become serious and uncontrollable. Children suffering from Conduct disorder are impulsive and rebellious. Though such behavior is common among most adolescents, yet it becomes a serious disorder if it persists for a longer period of time. A child suffering from this disorder can be often dangerous and harmful for others. They indulge in unlawful activities also.
