A Look At Photography Throughout Time
Having said that, have you ever considered how photography came to be? As a matter of fact, photography as an art has been around for centuries. Mankind has always treasured beautiful scenes, always wanting to capture any example of such scenes. However, the technology available a few centuries ago was not as developed as it is today, in the modern age. This article will take a look to the past, to when photography came about, and how its popularity has grown since then. "Photography" as a phrase and concept was introduced by Sir Jon Herscel around the early 1830s, which is when the world started to learn about this impressive thought. Photography is in reality derived from two words: 'photo' and 'graphein' which means recording images with the help of radiation or light. So whilst "photography" does mean recording images via radiation or light, nowadays photography only uses light. The first photograph was produced by a scientist called Daguerre who was a French painter and chemist. Traces of photographs have been discovered as early as 1827, which would suggest that such a technology did exist in some form earlier than 1839 (i.e. which is when Daguerre produced the first recorded photograph). Photography became very prominent in 1847 when photographs of the Mexican-American war were shown in the Americas, reaching the masses. The public started to see the potential of photography, and they came to know that this brand-new technology was about to change their lives. Furthermore, the very first (albeit basic) colored photos were released in 1861. These photos really created a buzz all over the world because it was a new and unusual concept for people. However it is important to note that this method involved simply tinting photographs, which evidently didn't produce the same high quality colored photos that we have nowadays. Photography and its associated equipment kept improving - as did the quality of the photographs produced - until in the 1991 when the first digital camera burst onto the international scene. This digital camera technology created a very large interest, and then some people produced many colorful photos of their friends, family, and other scenes. More and more companies began to delve into the production of a wider variety of these cameras, which ultimately facilitated in producing the remarkable photographs that we have today. In the modern world, fashion and electronic media are all about photography. Photographs today, and their usage in advertising, have really made our lives beautiful and colorful!
