A New Way For Soldiers To Communicate

People that are in the military, stationed peace core members and missionaries around the world strive to communicate with their family and friends about their daily lives and the experiences they want to share. This is a basic need when so far from home; people want to connect with friends and loved ones giving them a sense of security and hope.

A web site called “SoldierText.com” is one solution to the problem. Soldier Text allows a text message to be sent out from a computer with an internet connection to a cell phone or cell phones in the United States. It is very easy to use, all a member needs to do is upload all the numbers they want whether it is 10-200 phone numbers, type the message on the computer, and selecting numbers they want to send it to and click “Send” and off the message goes. During a monthly period this can be used on a unlimited basis, giving the user the ability to contact home as mush as they feel necessary with no restrictions.

There are services like this in the United States for businesses, but has not crossed over to the private sector. Now it has, although I have seen articles’ providing similar services in England for their soldiers and from what I read it was an encouraged piece of technology. So now our service personal, peace core members and missionaries now have the same opportunities.

Another factor that is nice about the service is that it comforts many of the people dearest to you. If my research is correct it cost somewhere in the range of $150 for 1000 minute phone card. On a typical day our stationed troops probably are going to want to call their families and loved ones, dissipating the minutes quickly. The innovation of this service will provide the soldier with an unlimited amount of contact time to whom ever they would like. Also, from what I hear it will be a two way messaging service coming soon. So texts can go both ways which would make it feel like the soldiers were even closer to home.
