A Trip In The Past With Zeta-jones

The Marriage of Catherina Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas was one of the Highs of 2000. Their marriage took place on the 18th of November 2000 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. 350 guests attended this magical event. Some of the big names that attended were: Goldie Hawn, Jack Nicholson and Meg Ryan. Being an extremely famous couple, they had to outdo themselves of course. They ended up having one of the most expensive weddings of 2000; the rumours are that the wedding cost was $1.5 Million.

They had a terrace room completely transformed for the event, the terrace was filled with Grass hills and a garden made of Lady Slippers, Larkspur and Delphiniums.

The first one to walk down the aisle wasn’t Catherina, but her mum, Diana Douglas Darrid, with their baby son, Dylan Douglas. Catherina followed, her father proudly walked her down the aisle. She was the picture of elegance and wore a diamond tiara. It was a 20 minute short ceremony, they pronounced their vows between 2 columns of roses. The ceremony was held by New York Chief Judge Judith Kaye.

As entertainment, the couple hired some famous artists such as: Art Garfunkel, Jimmy Bufet and Bonnie Tyler. The couple spent their first night as married couple together in the Astor Suite in the Plaza Hotel and spent their honeymoon in Aspen, Colorado where they own a home.
