Ati Supplanted Nvidia On The Market Of Discrete Graphics
Traditionally, NVIDIA has been always considered as a strong player on the market, and only a year ago the share of discrete graphics cards with a green logotype was 59 percent, while ATI has settled for 41 percent. In the second quarter however, ATI managed to cover 51 percent of the market, and, accordingly, the share of NVIDIA cards was 49 percent. Of course, NVIDIA has all chances to regain the leading position with the help of its brand new video cards based on GF 10x and GF104 GPUs. Nonetheless, it is obvious that ATI’s decision to support DirectX 11 has strongly influenced NVIDIA’s course of business. If you take a look at the market of graphics solutions as a whole, including integrated graphics, then Intel continues to occupy a leading position with a share of 54.3%. ATI also improves its position by increasing its influence on the market of graphics cards to 24.5 percent, while NVIDIA owns 19.8% of the market, when just a year ago NVIDIA’s share was 29.6%. Clearly, Intel and AMD continue to be the leaders on the market of integrated graphics solutions as well. In addition, NVIDIA has already announced that its revenues for the second quarter will be less than expected. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com |
