Scanning the yards on the street in the summer you see all the typical items that complete this time of the year. There is smoke emanating from a grill, bicycles strategically dropped on the front lawn for quick access when kids need to go again. Planters that line the steps up to the front of the house with bright flowers and lush green foliage give the feeling of warmth and home. Some like me enjoy a place to sit in the breeze and have dinner or lunch.
A comfortable table and chairs offer outdoor dining for the few months the weather will permit this. I take advantage of this every time I can!
Some days it’s too warm so we crank up the giant umbrella to sit in the shade, and other days I can step out and just sit and enjoy. It really is a time when you want everything to be easy, convenient and allow you to maximize your time outdoors. Another way I have found to successfully enjoy the lazy days of summer to their fullest is with one perfect outdoor accessory that many may overlook but I cannot live without. I consider my hammock the perfect outdoor accessory and have many a time fallen into a deep sleep with the subtle rustling of the breeze thru the leaves of the trees around me, birds singing, and yes even the distant hum of a lawnmower can serenade me to sleep. I’m weightless with no pressure on my joints and swaying gently like a baby in a swing.
I have to admit, this one accessory has given me hours or relaxation and enjoyment. If someone could develop a way for me to use my laptop lying there I swear I wouldn’t move until about October if I had the option! A perfect way to find peace and serenity in our hectic lives is offered with the hammocks. I have one at the house, and take two with us when we load up the trailer – stands and all. A small slice of heaven in my world.
