Right at the tip of the Australian east coast lie the second smallest state in Australia – Victoria. But like they say – all best things in life come in small packages; Victoria packs a real punch! Victoria is replete with every aspect of travel and adventure that you would want in a vacation. You can enjoy the many riches of this state including the pristine beaches where sunset presents a magnificent moment, forest area and national park teeming with flora and fauna, and varied landscape that opens its arms to you!

Visit Victoria – visit Melbourne! The state capital is elegantly perched on the Yarra River and has everything that any cosmopolitan has to offer and much more. From stunning 19th century architecture to film festivals and live orchestras, from strict dress codes in glamorous bars to vibrant nightlife in small pubs, from Eureka Tower to the pretty promenade of South Gate, Melbourne Zoo, fishing at St. Kilda Pier, and not to mention the Brighton Beach.

One of the most popular destinations for families and retirees is Phillip Island. It is a 90-minute drive from Melbourne and is the natural habitat of inquisitive penguins, seals, koalas, and several species of birds. There is a long coastline with shallow beaches for swimming and replete with adventure activities for kids including helicopter tours, Indy GoKarts, and A Maze'N Things among others.

The Yarra valley is another popular place especially for those who want to taste the wine and have it too! It is home to 90 wineries and has won laurels for the finest pinot noir in Australia.

Some of the other tourist destinations in Victoria include Gippsland, which is home to some great ski slopes and is just 2 hour drive from Melbourne. The Murray River trip is a special one and you can hire a houseboat and enjoy the serenity with your family.

Travel and Accommodation

You can reach this land of different charms by car, bus or train.

Car: You can hire a car at Sydney and drive down to Melbourne, which will take around 10 hours. It will take 20 hours from Brisbane.

Bus: You can travel to Victoria and within the state in Buses. There are several interstate buses available.
