Acne Is Associated With Oily Skin

Oily skin is very closely associated with developing acne and so someone who is suffering from oily skin needs to be wary of the potential dangers and must be taking care of their skin as best as possible in order to prevent the development of acne.

There are probably just too many treatments that are available for helping to treat oily skin and some of these to some extent are quite effective. But you do need to be careful when it comes to selecting a range of products as some can actually attribute to the condition becoming worse.

Why oily skin happens is due to a number of reasons and one of these are hormonal reasons which is why so many teenagers can be seen with oily skin and even women who are suffering from their period or who are pregnant may also be suffering from oily skin.

Other factors can also cause the skin to become oily such as the weather, poor diet and certain skin care products could produce a trigger within the glands of the skin and this can make the glands within the skin produce even more oils.

You need to make sure that you are not using any products that contain any alcohol as this is known to cause the skin to become dry. This is how many of the oily skin products actually work, in that they use alcohol to absorb the excess oils but the problem is that they remove all oils. If the glands detect that the skin is dry, then they will over compensate by producing even more oils and so the skin is left to feel even more greasy than before.

So what can you do to make sure that you controlling your oily skin? There are a number of things that can be done such as making sure that you are eating the right foods and avoiding foods that are deep fried and contain a high percentage of saturated fats. These should be avoided and if the hair is also oily, this too needs to be kept away from the face as this could be adding to the problem also.

When it comes to the actual skin care products that you are using you need to be using products that are going to be gentle to the skin and actually help address the problem and not just mask away the symptoms. Even though you have oily skin you need to also make sure that you moisturising the skin, because even though the skin is oily does not mean that it is well hydrated, and this also means that you should be drinking sufficient amounts of water.

If you oily skin has become worse and as a result it has developed in spots and acne, then you should not panic and you need to follow the above rules. Making changes to your lifestyle will help as will observing the products that are being used for the actual treatment of spots. Do not make the mistake of using mulitple products, as some products do take time to make an effect, and do not be tempted to pick or squeeze at your spots as this will make matters worse.
