Soon, the companies involved realized that there is a market for adults who collect the figures as a hobby. These adult collectors buy the figures for display purposes. They prefer figures that are more realistic and look like art pieces. Compared with figures meant for younger kids, figures targeting adults and hobbyist, which are priced much higher, are made with remarkable precision.

There are many ways for collectors to purchase action figures. For newer models, such figures can easily be purchased at any retail stores including online toy stores. Sometimes warehouse sales or garage sales are great places to look for cheap action figures that are no longer in production. As a collector, you can also participate in online forums for collectors. People regularly sell or swap figures in such forums to complete their action figures collection. eBay is also a very useful site for action figure collectors as many collectors try to sell or trade figures here.

With more and more new action figures being created, action figure collecting will remain a popular hobby for many years to come.
