ATA’s International Training Division specializes in emergency medical, occupational safety and health training courses for professionals operating in remote and isolated environments.
It is often the case where the lives of people are dependent upon those offering medical assistance. Whether it is a car accident, a heart attack, or injuries from violent crimes, we at ATA can help.
With knowledge and skills learned in our occupational safety and health courses, we can save lives.
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS™) Training
The ATLS™ programme is designed for doctors who do not treat victims of major trauma on a regular basis and who may not have immediate access to sophisticated emergency facilities.
Doctors treating trauma patients in emergency or surgical departments will also benefit from the ATLS™ course.
The programme emphasizes the first hour of initial assessment and the primary management of an injured patient, starting at the point in time of injury and continuing through initial assessment, life-saving intervention, re-evaluation, stabilization, and when needed, transfer to a facility in which the patient can receive specialized care.
Basic Life Support (BLS™) Training
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course™ is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
These healthcare providers may include (but are not limited to) doctors, nurses, paramedics, medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, doctor’s assistants, registrars, interns, medical and nursing students in training, aides, medical and nursing assistants and other allied health personnel.
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS™) Training
ITLS™ is accepted internationally as the standard training course for pre-hospital trauma care, and is not only taught as a continuing education course, but is also used as a textbook in many Paramedic, EMT and first responder training programmes.
From October 2005, BTLS courses transitioned to become ITLS™ courses. The International Trauma Life Support course is conducted over a 3 day period and the delegate will leave with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to perform enhanced care of trauma patients.
Whether the situation is life-threatening or a casualty, these international trauma support courses are invaluable. ITLS™ stresses rapid assessment, appropriate intervention and identification of immediate life threats.
The ITLS™ framework for rapid, appropriate and effective trauma care is a global standard that works in any situation.
