Add Juicing To Your List Of Home Heartburn Remedies
My wife and I have been juicing for some time and recently co-wrote a book on the subject. I have also written numerous articles on heartburn and acid reflux but just didn’t make the connection. In fact, in my research for home heartburn remedies juicing was never mentioned. But, in reality, it should be. To curb heartburn and all of its related symptoms we need to slow the production of stomach acid. Moreover, for our bodies to make best use of the nutrients we consume our bodies must maintain a proper alkaline to acid balance. Experts suggest that we should strive for a 60/40 balance to maintain good health. That is, 60% alkaline and 40% acid. To improve our health the alkaline level should be about 80%. Unfortunately, most of us have those balance percentage the exact opposite of what they need to be. To attain the proper alkaline to acid balance we must eat high alkaline foods. Generally speaking, alkaline forming foods include: most fruits, green vegetables, peas, beans, lentils, spices, herbs and seasonings, and seeds and nuts. Conversely, acid forming foods include: meat, fish, poultry, eggs, grains, and legumes. Again, I am speaking in general terms because there are exceptions to these simplified lists. Take note of the second (acid producing) group. The typical American diet is made up of meat, eggs, and grains which is why we lean heavily on the acid percentage. Such a diet is actually a breeding ground for poor health conditions resulting in stress, toxic overload, and immune deficiencies that deprive the cells of oxygen and other nutrients. The body in turn then attempts to compensate for acidic pH by using alkaline minerals. If the diet fails to provide enough minerals to compensate then acid builds-up in the cells which contributes to failing health. It is no wonder that so many of us suffer from heartburn, indigestion, and acid reflux. Our diets demand it. Consequently, the only way to control the problem naturally is to change what…and the way we eat. Those who are looking for home heartburn remedies are seeking to avoid pharmaceuticals and, if you are among them, you deserve a pat on the back. It’s a smart thing to do. However, such thinking really is a band aid approach to fixing the problem. Without a doubt you can get the relief you seek but it does not stop the problem and promote healing. That is why I strongly recommend juicing as a natural solution for controlling heartburn and acid reflux. When your juicing includes high alkaline fruits and vegetables you are giving your body mega-doses of the best possible nutrients. Not only will you help solve your heartburn problem but you will also bring other health issues under control. You are making it possible for your body to do what it was designed to do…heal itself. I encourage you to look into the benefits of juicing. You will be amazed at what it can accomplish in your life. Juicing will introduce more enzymes into your body which will result in improved digestion and diminished heartburn symptoms. Here are a couple of power-juicing recipes that will help you get long term relief from heartburn: Tropical Heartburn Buster 2 mangos 1 papaya 1 guava Remove the skin, seeds/pits before juicing. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain which is great for controlling heartburn. Apple-Blueberry Delight 2 cups of blueberry 1 apple Wash berries thoroughly, remove stem from apple and juice. It doesn’t get easier than this. Finally, a note on juicing machines: If you have never juiced before then you may not know that a juicer is completely different from a blender. They are differing machines with different functions. So, to add juicing to your list of home heartburn remedies you will need a juicing machine. Believe me, it will be one of the best investments you have ever made for your health.
