The most important of web 2.0 site is the user interface which must be designed in such a manner that the site is totally user friendly and compatible in all the browsers. This is one of the serious issues which designer or the developers donot consider but the sites user interface should be so that visitors just stick to the site and rarely leave.

Major sections to be considered while designing a web 2.0 site :

- 3D layout of the buttons
- Usage of less graphical images
- Usage of more vector images
- Advanced CSS 3
- Usage of Ajax
- Auto stretchable pages
- Cross browser compatibility
- XHTML compliancy
- Mobile compliancy of the site (Usage of WML if required)

Moreover Web 2.0 sites must be hosted on dedicated server with high bandwidth as on these sites there are several logins at a time and they are high traffic sites too. Usually the web 2.0 site could be developed in either PHP, ASP.NET, Coldfusion, Java etc. but now-a-days Ruby on Rails is one of the preferable solutions for Web 2.0 sites.
