If you want to start making some good residual income on the internet, one of the best method is through affiliate marketing on the internet.

So let's explore into this right now!

Let's get to the basic, what is affiliate marketing on the internet all about? The most basic and simplest meaning to that is, being a re-seller of someone else product.

In the traditional business world, there's always a manufacturer of a product, and there's wholesaler of the products, and wholesalers will distribute to retailers, who is also know as resellers.

So, being an affiliate is exacting what it means, as being a resellers in the business world.

However, affiliate marketing on the internet is a lot more easier, less complication, and can happen a lot faster.

Most importantly, the cost of starting up an affiliate site that sell someone else product is so minimum, to the point you could start multiple sites around it.

Now that we understand the concepts of it, let's talk about the steps on how to get started...

If you have being reading my blog, you know that I always like to break down all the complicated informations into simple easy steps, and it works the same for affiliate marketing on the internet.

2) Setup Your Site

3) Capture

4) Market

Step 1 - Choose Your Market You need to choose your market. There are millions of products you can start selling on the internet. In order to get some focus on what you want to sell, I always use this approach of mine...

Only sell things that you are passionate about!

Why do I say that? Simple because if today you are NOT passionate about the products that you are selling, do you think you'll do your very best to promote it?

I don't think so. Yes! You might sell it initially for the money, but it'll not last long and might not create the kind of income you are looking for.

So, since you're going to "stick" to this product for a while, I recommend 2 years, you might as well choose one market/product that you love.

After you select your market, next what you want is to search the kinds of products you want and can sell.

For beginners, I strongly recommend digital products, rather than physical products. Why?

Simple, there's less process and less complicated steps in between to follow and to take note on. Most importantly...

For digital products, it's usually a 50% commission or more, and you can expect to get pretty good income from it.

So, to search for digital products to sell, go to these websites:

Or

You can do a Google search, "Product/market + affiliate". For example, "Golf Swing + Affiliate" or "Dog Training + Affiliate".

Let's get to step 2 right away!

Step 2 - Setup

There are many ways to setup an site to have visitors coming to your site. You do want visitors to come to your site, click on your affiliate links and proceed to the affiliate site. What do I mean by that?

There are many affiliate out there would drive affiliate using Google Adwords, Banner ads, Classified ads straight to the product site.

From there, as long as they are making a profit, rather than losing money, they will continue to do that.

There's nothing wrong with doing that, but, they are leaving too much money on the table.

You want to setup your site in such a way that you can start capturing the visitors and converting them into prospect or subscribers.

And by have a list of subscribers, you can start to build relationship and get them to trust you to introduce them more products in the future.

You do not want to constantly look for new customers, you want to have repeating customers who have bought from your recommendations, who like you and trust you.

There are many ways to setup the site.

You can do it by...

1) Setting up a FREE site using Blogger, MySpace, Squidoo and etc.

2) Get a Domain Name and Setup a Wordpress Blog on the website like this one.

3) Setup a simple name capturing page known as Squeeze page or Landing Page.

Once you setup your site, you can start capturing it!

Step 3 - Capture it!

How do you capture it? Simple! By signing up with one of the Autoresponder on the internet.

There are the 3 main ones, Aweber, GetResponse and 1ShoppingCart.com

I have used GetResponse and 1ShoppingCart.com and love both of them so far.

With that, you can setup the autoresponders whereby you can start capturing your visitors name and email.

This is a great form of permission marketing, whereby you get full permission from your visitors to send them more informations about your recommendations.

And how well is your recommendations will depends on well on how you write your autoresponders email.

This is entirely another article, blog post or even a product on that alone.

Step 4 - Market

Lastly, it's to market it. Marketing on the internet, in this case, mainly is to drive targeted traffic to your website that you setup.

There are over 30+ ways to drive traffic to any website! I personally only apply a few of the main ones and I'm getting thousands upon thousands of visitors to my website every single month.

So, the more visitors that you drive to your website, the more subscriber you can look forward to get, and the more sales or/and income you will expect to get.

There's no secret formula to that, it's all mainly simple calculation.

Let's do a very simple one right here:

For example, you are getting 250 visitors per day to your website, in a month, you will get 250 X 30 = 7,500 visitors.

Let's say, your website is capturing your visitors at about 20%, which is pretty low, then you'll have about 1,500 subscribers during that month.

If the product that you are reselling is converting at 2%, then driving 1,500 visitors to that site will give you, 30 sales in a month.

Finally, if per sales you make $30, then 30 sales will give you, $30 X 30 sales = $900.

That's not too bad for a monthly income right.

So, it's really easy to start making money using affiliate marketing on the internet. It's so simple, straight-forward, but so many people are always looking for the next biggest "hype".
