Affiliate Marketing Tactics: Why Affiliate Product That Offers Higher Commission Is Not A Better Product?
There are many affiliate programs that are available on the internet. It can be quite a challenging task for the new affiliates to choose a good affiliate product to promote. As most affiliates start their business because they want to earn money fast, they will tend to focus on the amount of commissions that the merchant offer. The question is “Does affiliate product that offers higher commission a better product?”
It is always nice to choose a affiliate program that offers you higher commission as you will get more money if the customer purchase the product. But you will have to note that when the merchant is offering high commissions, it will also means that the merchant is charging very high for the product. Much lesser people will purchase the product as the price is high.
On the other side, if there is a affiliate program that offers similar product, offers lesser commission as the price is lower, you might actually do better. More people will be able to purchase the product as the price is low. You will be able to convert more people into customer which will ultimately increase your profits.
There is no rules that says that you should only promote product which offer lower commissions. You will have to decide on several factors that will affect your marketing campaign. For instance, if you already have a big and responsive list, you will be able to sell higher priced product as they have already trusted you and they will be more likely to purchase the product.
Thus, it do not mean that affiliate product that offers higher commission is a better product. Do know the situation that you are in and do some research on the product before you start your promotional campaign.
