Most people think that affiliate marketing is just selling a product for a company and earning a commission from it. However, there are many other forms of affiliate marketing that you can use as a profitable business model. By understanding all of these methods you’ll be able to choose and use one that best suits your personal style

Marketing For The Vendor (Seller) Directly:

This is the simplest form of affiliate marketing where you sign up with a particular company that has their own affiliate program where they sell their own particular products. This could be a specific company or even a big retail store like iTunes.

Third Party Affiliate Programs:

This is probably the most popular form of affiliate marketing and includes well known companies like ClickBank, Commission Junction and Linkshare.
These companies essentially act as a middle man. They all have thousands of vendors who want affiliates to sell their products. Once you register with one of these companies you’ll be able to start promoting a massive range of products from their marketplaces using your own unique URL or affiliate link. When people click on your unique affiliate link they will be sent to the product’s sales page and if they buy it you will instantly get a commission.

Pay Per Lead/CPA:

This is one of my favourite forms of affiliate marketing because this is where I’ve personally made most of my money.

In this method, the vendor or merchant will pay the affiliate for each time a visitor does a particular action on their site. Usually the website that visitors are sent to will have a form to fill out and you will get paid if the visitor leaves an email address, or a zip code or name and address. This is such a powerful method of affiliate marketing because it is so much easier to get someone to leave their email address than it is to get them to pull out their credit card and buy something.

Affiliate marketing is one of the best and easiest ways to start making money online. As you have seen there are many different methods to choose from and I have one MASSIVE secret that will help you.

The Secret!

The big secret is to start with ONE type of affiliate marketing and to FOCUS on that method before trying the others out. I know it sounds simple, but trust me, I’ve fallen into the trap of trying too many things at once. By scattering your efforts across all of the methods you are actually making life harder for yourself because it just becomes too hard to keep track of everything.
By focusing all of your energy into one method you’ll know whether or not it suits your personal style, have a better understanding of how it works and achieve success with it in half the time. Once you have mastered one particular method of affiliate marketing THEN you can start to incorporate other methods into your online business. Just remember that it is essential to focus mastering one method in the beginning.
