Affiliate sales accounts for billions of dollars of sales online every year and it is still growing. More and more people every day are looking for and seeking alternatives to get more money coming into the household. Now I am not a doom and gloom guy, but things have changed out there in our country and lets face it, things are a bit tougher.
There are literally thousands upon thousands of affiliate products to sell online, in every imaginable niche you can possibly think of. However so many look at affiliate marketing and doing business online through rose colored glasses. Affiliate programs today are doing everything they can to help you succeed online.
I have never seen an out pouring of effort coming from the programs themselves. Typically what I see now and didn't see in the years past is, programs supplying you with Banner ads, Some have full blown sales pages already put together for you. They have now caught onto the idea of putting together rebrandable PDF reports to help get the word out, as well as supplying you with complete squeeze pages sometimes.
Some have also gone to the extent of supplying you with pre-written sequenced email series to deliver to your developing and growing list. So now it easier than ever. All you have to do, and your only responsibility is to drive traffic to your website or blog. I mean you can literally have a business up and running and have a few articles submitted and getting you traffic within a matter of days.
A couple of tips for you. When choosing your advertising materials that are supplied, always keep in mind your over all site and how you want things to look and appear. having oddly sized banners strewn all over isn't going to look very professional. Do everything you can to keep some sort of uniformity to your site.
While banners are used to gain attention. When using banners be sure their kb size isn't to large and causing them to load slowly as this could slow down your entire site. They should be no more then 15to 30 kb in size. People won't wait for information to load.
Pop ups and pop under are also another tool that is sometimes supplied by your affiliate program and here is another instance you want to be careful. I prefer pop ups when I use them, and as a general rule of thumb you want to be sure sure it only appears once. And when it does appear give the prospect and easy way to close it. Remember you only have seconds to maintain attention don't make them click away because of a pop up.
