Airport Parking

Everybody has a list of what they don't like about going to the airport. For many, the long lines at the check-in counter are first on that list. For lots of people, the long lines and intrusion of privacy, despite the fact that it is done with good intentions, the security checkpoint is the worst part about the airport. Still, for some individuals, especially for those that travel a great deal and are gone for extended amounts of time, the way that parking and long term parking is set up at the airport is the worst thing about flying.

Unless you get a ride to the airport, on a shuttle or some other type of service, you are made to make use of the airports parking structure or outside parking lots. Depending on how long you're going to be gone will depend on what are you are able to park in. These parking lots can usually get expensive and often they are located in areas which can be hard to get to and very inaccessible.

What’s more, is that a great number of long term parking lots are on the outskirts of the airport grounds and are often not monitored very frequently and in many cases, not monitored at all. This means that you car is not being watched and is available for all sorts of trouble from vandals or thieves. This is only one of the hassles and downsides of using such a large bureaucratic entity such as the airlines.

They have no desire to make your life simpler and more convenient and have no desire to change what they already have a monopoly on. There are some things that will never be changed back in the customers favor, but making things more pleasing and user-friendly really would significantly help. I am sure that every person that has to use long term parking would never mind paying an additional dollar or two to have some tightened security watching their motor vehicle while they were away.

These kinds of nuisances could always be prevented completely with the use of a chartered aircraft or some other private service. Parking is always restricted and safe, plus it's typically based out of a smaller airport that has much stricter and tighter parking facilities. It's all about what the individual customer values and thinks is important, and those are the types of things that they will focus on and make their final decisions on.
