Aldara Cream

In the study, reported in the Journal of the America Academy of Dermatology, Aldara cream has successfully cleared all skin lesions in more than half of cases. Aldara is a popular medication for treating many types of skin problems including Actinic keratos, a condition caused by excess sun exposure. The cream is used to treat actinic keratos on the face and scalp. Although this medicine is used to treat genital warts that appear on the outside of the body, it is not considered to be a cure for genital warts since new warts tend to appear during the treatment. Superficial basal cell carcinoma, a minor form of skin cancer, can also be treated by Aldara cream.
It contains the active ingredient imiquimod which is an immune response modifier and helps to relief from genital warts. Each gram of the 5% cream contains 50 mg of imiquimod.
