All About Gourmet Coffee

Coffee is considered as one of the most popular drinks and every year, billions of cups of coffee are consumed by people all over the world. Coffee is always served at various events: from simple gatherings to important business meetings. Some people drink coffee to be able to stay alert and energetic all throughout the day while some are real coffee enthusiasts who can’t live without having a cup daily. Coffee is now cultivated in several countries: each have their own distinct qualities.

Most coffee drinkers wouldn’t just settle for less: they always go with specialty gourmet coffees. These types of coffee are extracted from premium beans and they greatly stand out when it comes to quality and flavor. Beans are cultivated on Arabic trees at high altitudes and are nourished with volcanic ashes. Excellent-quality beans are produced under lots of moisture and cool climate conditions. The soil where beans are cultivated also gives impact on the flavor and it varies from region to region therefore producing wide varieties of gourmet coffee beans. Compared to regular coffee beans, gourmet coffee beans provide a fuller and richer taste. The high quality is maintained due to the strict certification process which is mandated by Specialty Coffee Association of America, the largest coffee trade association in the world, founded in 1982.

People can’t simply give up coffee even though they are aware of its negative effects on health. But then, we can’t ignore the fact that coffee also provides good health benefits when consumed in proper quantity. Nowadays, gourmet coffee is a big hit in the market because of its taste and health advantages.

Gourmet coffee can be found almost anywhere: specialty shops, grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants. If you are a real coffee expert, you can similarly match it up to a fine bottle of wine.
