All About The Cessna 152
Between 1977 when the first Cessna 152 rolled out and 1986, when production stopped, the 152’s that were produced run in several thousands and these were manufactured in the US and some from France. Production was stopped because of the increasing production costs at that time. But a good percentage of these planes are still around these days. Because of its powerful 110 HP Lycoming fuel efficient engine, it became one of the most sought after trainer planes for decades. It became well loved by flying school students because of its ease in flying and handling. Because the 152s fly slower then other bigger planes, pilot trainers do not find maneuverability a concern, making it more the favorite of these flying school students. And the fact is these small planes are still one of the planes in the fleet of more pilot trainer schools worldwide. The Cessna 152 came in four versions, the standard model 152 and the other was the model 152 II that came with a package of factory installed avionics and omni-directional light beacon. Another version was the improved model 152 trainer planes with improvements including an intercom system and transponder and the last version was the model 152 Aerobat. The Cessna 152 became one of the favorite planes of Aerobatic groups in air shows and it still is, these days.
