All About The Directv 7s Satellite

The DirecTV 7S is a high power spot beam direct broadcast satellite has been manufactured by Space Systems/Loral (SS/L) with a design life of 15 years for DirecTV Inc., El Segundo, California.

The satellite has been sent into space with the help of the rocket Sea Launch Zenit-3SL from the Odyssey Launch Platform. The satellite has been positioned into a circular geostationary orbit approximately 36,000 km above the equator at 119 degrees west longitude to cover the United States. The DirecTV 7S will employ very much focused spot beam technology to facilitate DirecTV with the capability to transmit local channels to 41 extra markets, increasing its local channel exposure to a total of 106 markets. The president of the SS/L said that the high-power DirecTV 7S satellite is the most highly developed direct-broadcast satellite ever made. The DirecTV 7S Satellite will permit DirecTV to develop its market by double the number. By doing this, the DirecTV customers can look at local television programs in a greater way. SS/L is exceptionally proud to send DirecTV 7S.

The DirecTV 7S satellite is the third SSL-built satellite in the DirecTV fleet. DirecTV 7S becomes the eighth satellite in the orbiting fleet of the DirecTV and the second high-power spot beam spacecraft of DirecTV. SS/L has also built two other satellites, DirecTV 8 and DirecTV 9S. DirecTV 7S produces over 13kW of total satellite power at the starting of its existence and is made to function from orbital locations at 101 degrees west longitude, the main orbital slot for DirecTV, or 119 degrees west longitude. DirecTV is the leading digital multi-channel television service provider in the United States. It has more than 15 million subscribers. DirecTV and the Cyclone Design logo are the registered trademarks of DirecTV, Inc. The DirecTV, Inc. is a unit of the DirecTV Group, Inc. The DirecTV Group, Inc. is a world-leading provider of broadband satellite networks and services, digital multi-channel TV entertainment, and worldwide transmission of video and data.

In one working mode, the DirecTV 7S satellite will be able to provide up to 54 transponders for first-class local and national digital video service transmission into 27 beams. In its other pattern, the satellite is able to provide up to 44 transponders transmission into 30 beams. DirecTV 9S has been designed to function from the orbital locations at 101 degrees west longitude or 119 degrees west longitude.

DirecTV 9S surely offers an important increase in the bandwidth. This is what almost all the people have been waiting for. DirecTV 9S is a geostationary satellite orbit (GSO) satellite comprising a DBS space station and a rigid satellite service Ka-band space station at the 101.1 orbital position. The DBS space station offers national and local programs, at the same time as the FSS Ka-band space station permits for the development of local services into extra markets by offering capability for backhauling the signals of local transmission stations.
