Foot protection is on the minimal side but acceptable since by design, the EXOSpeed series has always been a lightweight combat/tactical boot designed for soldiers required to do extensive marching, running, and physical activity. Soldiers looking for safety toe protection may want to consider another model boot. Other qualities worth mentioning are the non-metallic construction of the boot and open-tread pattern. No metal parts exist in the EXOSpeed II. Even the lace guides are made of high impact nylon material which makes this boot safe for electrical hazard environments. The open tread pattern of the non-marking rubber outsole prevents debris from being trapped in the lugs. Overall, Altama's new EXOSpeed II series has received a wave of excellent reviews from users in the field.
