Not everyone wants to put hours and hours in slaving over books. It suits some people very well, especially people who are academically minded and love to research and find things out.

• Diplomas: The 14-19 Diploma is being heralded as the biggest thing in education since the introduction of the GCSE. Diplomas take both a vocational and academic approach to learning.
