Americans Supplanted By Foreigners On Facebook

Americans have been supplanted by foreigners and now account for less than a quarter of the Facebook audience: only 130 out of 500 million users of the world’s most popular social network reside in the U.S.

According to Royal Pingdom, Britain is ranked 2nd, where Facebook is being used by 28 million people, 4.6 times less than in the U.S. Italy and Indonesia tie for third place, scoring 26 million users. France and India are ranked fourth with 21 million Facebook users each. Then there are Germany, Mexico, Turkey and Canada.

The second ten countries in the list are Malaysia, Spain, Philippines, Argentina, Australia, Taiwan, Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Thailand. In the last three, the audience size is roughly the same and accounts for 6,2 million people each.

Facebook is one of the largest social networks in the world. Its total audience is equivalent to 1.6 times the population of the United States. The top ten countries, surveyed by Pingdom, account for 58 percent of users.
