They will be involved in deciding what care the patient needs to each day and what the best way is to administer the necessary care.

Although a nurse cannot prescribe medication to a patient, they are often involved in the treatment process. Many nurses are qualified to give injections and almost all of them are qualified to administer oral medications to patients. However, some nurses may not be able to handle these responsibilities if they are not in the presence of a licensed physician.

In addition to the medical aspects of the job, many nurses take on administrative responsibilities as well. For example, they may be responsible for keeping records of patient care and for restocking necessary supplies around the facility. In most cases, the nurses on duty will share these responsibilities so that every member of the team has the opportunity to work directly with their patients.

There are many different things that go into the nursing job description and people entering the profession should be clear on all of them before entering nursing school. In addition to assisting the physician, many are able to administer treatments to patients without supervision. In addition to medical responsibilities, they should expect to be responsible for a certain amount of record keeping and similar duties. All of these things are an important part of creating a positive patient experience and improving their quality of life.
