Anger Management Class- Can Anger Be Controlled

When is the last time that you have solely concentrated on driving a car or riding a bike? I would imagine that it has been a long time. It seems like once you learn how to drive or ride it becomes second nature. The same can be said for applying the tools of anger management and controlling your anger.

For some individuals that struggle to control anger, violent or angry outbursts have become somewhat automatic and the idea of controlling a habitual reaction can feel daunting at the start. It is important to recognize that anger is a learned response to a situation or incident. Alternatives to anger must also be learned, applied to appropriate circumstances and positively reinforced over time to replace typical angry or violent reactions.

Mastering the tools of anger management does not happen over night and it takes plenty of practice. However eventually, just like riding a bike or driving a car, choosing alternatives to anger will become automatic and you will be able to successfully control anger.
