Anxiety Attack Treatments Plus Your Anxiety Cycle
The psychological and physical results of the initial anxiety or panic attack are so incredibly frightening that you are left anxious even after it is concluded. But by its very nature, it homes-in on behaviour rather than the underlying cause(s) of an anxiety attack which are somewhat difficult to spot and define. Because of this you can't be completely sure that you won't have another attack at some point in the future. Usual Drug-based Treatments These are what doctors usually prescribe to help manage the symptoms of anxiety and anxiety attacks. Typical medications are tranquilizers like benzodiazepines, antidepressants like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and, beta blockers e.g. propranolol, which help reduce physical symptoms like shaking and palpitations. Drug-based medication can certainly help in the treatment of the symptoms of anxiety, but once again, they cannot help with the underlying cause(s). They also have some pretty nasty side effects including slurring, drowsiness, dizziness, dependency and nausea, etc. These anxiety attack treatments can be crudely divided into two broad types; 'coping mechanisms' and 'mind-numbing'.
