Apple Mac Laptop

Because of its dominance in the corporate world, most people’s introduction to computers is in the form of that the PC. However, with the enormous popularity of other Apple products such as the iPod and the iPhone, more people are investigating Apple Mac laptops for their computing needs. Although the transition from PC to Apple Mac laptop might seem difficult, Apple is well-known for making products that are intuitive and user-friendly. Such is the case with their line of portable computers, MacBook.

What are the types of Apple Mac laptops available?

There are three different types of Apple Mac laptops available in the MacBook family. The first, simply called the “MacBook,” features a sleek black or white design that really differentiates itself from other portable computers. The MacBook comes standard with 2GB of memory. Weighing in at only five pounds, the MacBook stands just over an inch tall when closed, which makes it easy to carry around and allows it to fit into the smallest of workspaces. Though the MacBook is small, it features a generous-sized 13.3 inch widescreen display.

A second type of Apple Mac laptop is the MacBook Air. At less than one inch thick, the MacBook Air is the thinnest notebook computer available anywhere. Weighing a mere 3 pounds, it’s also the lightest. Like the MacBook, the MacBook Air has a 13.3 inch widescreen display. Apple even managed to fit a full keyboard in this slim and trim Mac laptop. Essentially, the Air is everything that the MacBook is, only in a smaller package.

While still compact by traditional standards, the largest Apple Mac laptop in the MacBook line is the MacBook Pro. The Pro comes in three different models: a 15.4-inch screen, a 17-inch inch screen and a 17-inch high resolution screen. The MacBook Pro has lots of features to enhance the user's experience. For instance, it includes a built-in ambient light sensor that adjusts the keyboard and display brightness. In addition to FireWire and USB ports, it also has a DVI port, optical audio in and out ports and an ExpressCard slot, making connecting with other media as easy as plugging in a cable.

All MacBooks come equipped with at least two USB ports and a FireWire port. The whole MacBook family features Wi-Fi compatibility that allows for easy access to wireless networks. You can use a MacBook on a PC network, and it supports familiar software and platforms such as Microsoft Office.
