Arc’teryx Bora 80 Backpack: Great Choice For Beginners And Experts
So I did not expect much from this new addition to the Arc’Teryx line of packs. I am an experienced hiker with more than a few extended trips notched on my belt. From the Rockies, to the Alps, to the Krugersdorp Reserves of South Africa, I’ve carried my fair share of gear. And I guess I feel as if I’ve seen it all. And yet, the Arc’Teryx is one bag that stands apart. It is loaded with surprises. First of all, it comes with a brand name that is a potential tongue-twister—sounding like something between the name of a mountain goat and some new fangled gadget. And I guess that’s neither here nor there. But it looks similar in design to the standard issue backpacks most adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts pack, like all those sports cars designed with similar engines under the hood but sporting different brand names. Now if you’re a Doubting Thomas when you try out the pack, by the time you’re done with it you should be a Believing Bob. The extended features that come with the pack are hidden in its contemporary style. With water tight zippers and the advanced fabric the backpack is made of, you’ll certainly keep the damp out—not only on the outside of the but on the inside as well. I tested out the manufacturer’s claims about “advanced suspension technology” on a particularly long hike in Yosemite and it didn’t disappoint. While other packs look the same and turn out to be a wrestling match, the Arc’Teryx Bora 80 keeps its mean face but carries light enough to be comfortable. Space and functionality comes next. If you’re a heavy hiker, you won’t be disappointed with the roomy nature of this backpack. You can pack more than your fair share of camping arsenal and still lug it about quite comfortably. The side access zipper also makes it fairly easy for you all to access it all in one move. It also has standard features like top and rear access along with a Thermo-formed air channel back panel. Pros: Looks standard issue and packs surprises in design, comfort and functionality. Cons: This great piece of work only comes in three standard colors: Black, Ink and Sangria Verdict: If you’re packing heavy this is a good choice. Few will offer as much comfort or the same level of functionality. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com Copyright Melissa Gorman.
