Are 2-up Programs Such As Edcgold, Coastal Vacations "dinosaurs"?
Are EDCGold, Coastal Vacations, Emerald Passport and other 1-up/2-up Direct Sales programs declining in popularity on the Internet? With the introduction of newer compensation plans that provide income to the new member on the first sale (and every sale thereafter), it is entirely possible that this is exactly what is happening!
Direct Sales programs on the Internet have been using the 1-up and 2-up compensation plan for several years. In fact, it was the most popular plan used because at first glance, it is a very powerful program. Programs such as EDCGold, Coastal Vacations, Emerald Passport are just some of the programs that have used this comp plan. However, when you really look inside the compensation there are some big problems for new people coming in. The need for giving up the initial sale(s) without any income has always been a problem.
Actually, the failure rate is very high for these programs - at least 95% or higher. There are only a small percentage of new people that ever become qualified, much less make any sales for themselves. Most of the "big money makers" in these program are the professional networkers and marketers.
With the opportunity for people wanting to make money from programs on the Internet to actually get paid on the first sale and thereafter, 1-up/2-up programs such as EDCGold, Coastal Vacations, Emerald Passport, etc. are seeing a declining active membership. The lofty promises of residual income that traditional 1-up/2-up programs use to lure in new members is not reality for most people. In fact, the reality for both new members and old members is continual recruitment that never results in residual income.
The only way the a 2-up plan is really successful is when all members (or members that make the effort) are actually getting qualified and consistently making sales for themselves. This will actually create a "residual" income of sorts... income from the efforts of others. However, since the largest percentage of folks in 1-u/2-up programs (e.g. EDCGold, Coastal Vacations, Emerald Passport, etc.) don't even get qualified, much less make sales for themselves, there is no residual. in fact, to make money, people have to become professional recruiters forever... which means that the regular person is left behind, again.
The whole system is flawed for the general person just trying to "make a buck" on the internet and many people fail and give the industry a bad mark because of it. Newer programs, such as the Perfect Wealth Formula, have been striving to fix this problem and have come up with alternatives that actually compensate the new marketer immediately as well as residually.
These give that new person a chance to actually be successful without having a huge bankroll to spend on startup. After all, home business is supposed to be "less" expensive to get started in! The playing field has been leveled and new people, who are flocking to the internet at increasingly rapid speeds, are happy to be making money for themselves as well as for their sponsor. This actually recreates the team like feeling that is prevalent in MLM with a far better income potential.
For obvious reasons, the popularity of the newer "income on first sale" plus residual models is rising. New members can see the benefits and even veterans who have been struggling in programs like EDCGold, Coastal Vacations, Emerald Passport, etc. can see that this is a better way... even if they can make the money in the 2-up model that doesn't mean their new members will be successful and ... there goes the residual. Some of these veterans are seeing income at much higher levels for the first time since they started on the internet.
All that remains is to answer the big question...EDCGold, Coastal Vacations, Emerald Passport and the others - Dinosaurs? Not exactly. But they are definitely on the decline. And it was inevitable that something else would come along. Since these plans really don't favor the entire membership, it makes sense that people are looking for alternatives. Nobody minds their sponsor making some money but not all of it. There is a "new kid on the block" and he is making waves!
