Are Wedding Invitation Kits As Cheap As They Claim?

Today there are a lot of wedding invitation kits out there. Some can be very reasonable to use. However with the growing number becoming available some are rather expensive.

Yes, wedding invitations kits are an excellent option. But, you must know how to imprint them and that may cost extra money. When I had a print shop, I had brides you would bring in their wedding invitation kits for imprinting. I am sure they saved money, but knowing how would have saved them more.

You can make your own wedding invitation kits also. If you take basic card stock you can layer colors to make a unique wedding invitation. Simply use paper and print on that, use a good glue stick and glue the paper to the colored card stock. You can cut different sizes for the invitations, rsvp cards, and reception cards. A white envelope will work well if your inside paper is white.

With all the scrapbook supplies and tools you can really make very custom wedding invitation kits. You will set the mood with some very nice patterned card stock behind white paper. Maybe you could put a nice cutout on your invitations.

It seems to me that although the wedding invitation kits are plentiful, making your own can save even more money and can be very custom. I have found that using leftovers from the printing industry can save a lot of money. Many times your local print shop will have extra card stock left over from a big job. Most of them will recycle that cardstock. However, if you go and see them they would probably give it to you or sell it very inexpensively.

Another idea is to use the scrap color as an accent. Print your wedding invitation kits, then add a cutout shape made with your scrapbook punch out cutter. This can make a nice added touch. Very simple, but adds a lot of fun, class or just creative aspect.

So why not save even more and make your own wedding invitation kits. You can make your invites just the way you want!
