Are You Making Money Online? If Not, Why?.
Unfortunately many of these would be marketers spend a lot of money and even go deeper into debt without anything to show for it. They just kind of “float” out there, hoping! Below are some personality types that would not be very successful. Then some suggestions. 1. Clueless Cora - Clueless Cora has no idea of where to start. She gets the direct mail ads and even reads them. However, she has done no research, and the more advertising she looks at, the more confused she becomes. She very quickly loses self-confidence (if she had any to begin). In her confusion, Clueless Cora does not even start, she does not even TRY! She does not join forums or blog sites or any of those things that would help her figure out how to begin. Basically she does nothing except read the advertising and then wonders why she cannot make money on the Internet. 2. Niche-less Nellie - Niche-less Nellie is only one step above Clueless Cora. She has looked around more and read lots of marketing mail, but everything looks sooo good. Maybe she should try this, or maybe she should try that. Travel? Health? Beauty? Marketing? There are so many tempting programs, and she can’t figure out which is right for her. She has no idea what she would enjoy most, so sits there frozen and doesn’t sign up for anything, thinking if she starts in a niche she will never be able to change. Again, here is someone who doesn’t even try. 3. Wandering Walter - Wandering Walter is a case unto himself. He isn’t so concerned about the right niche as he is about all the great offers out there. He is all over the place, trying this and then trying that and getting distracted. For him the next new thing looks so good, he drops what he has been working on and heads into the new program. In effect, he lacks follow-through. He never completes any of the programs he starts, so ends up with a morass of possibilities, but no money. And, in case you haven’t figured it out, Wandering Walter is totally disorganized. He doesn’t have a plan and his goals are nebulous. 4. Dudley Do-it-myself - Dudley Do-it-myself is kind of like Wandering Walter in that he does not follow directions all the way through. He will get into a program, and glance through the suggested marketing ideas, but then decides he knows how to do it better, or he doesn’t need to use all that stuff. Instead of working on writing articles (or getting some and placing them), he sends information elsewhere. He somehow does not believe that all of the marketing suggestions are important, and does half a job. He will try a little of this and try a little of that, but is not persistent. 5. Penney-pinching Pete - Penney-pinching Pete does not think he should have to pay for anything Somehow he has missed the concept that “if you want to make money you have to spend money.” He believes that most of the marketing programs are scams, and don’t do what they say they willl do. If he can’t get it for free, he will pass it up. He gets disgusted and impatient, and rants about all the scam artists trying to take his money, and that is all they care about. He has some money to spend but won’t part with it. He does not plan and budget and choose the best programs for himself. 6. Lazy Larry - Lazy Larry is just that, Lazy. He feels he should only have to work 60 minutes a day to get rich just like the ads say. But, he doesn’t get the concept that you have to work hard in the beginning! He doesn’t want to bother with thinking and planning, he just wants to put up the site or become an affiliate, and then forget about it, waiting for the money to roll in. When it doesn’t, he figures it must be a “bad product.” Lazy Larry does not take responsibility for marketing or networking, or practically any other part of making money. And there is always something else to do that is fun so he doesn’t take care of business. So what are the keys to success? How do you make money on the Internet? Can you? The answer is yes, But there are certain attitudes you must adopt, and certain things you must do. First, you must have a Goal. One that is reachable, realistic and with a set time frame. For example: “I will make $500 my first month.” Write it down! Then, you must have a Plan. First I will do this, then I will do that, then I will do that. Step-by-step, a plan that you will follow. Part of this is deciding which product to market. Choose one product to begin, and stick with it. Again, write it down. After that you must make a Decision. “A bad decision is better than NO decision.” After you have a product you can believe in, decide how you will present it to others. You are best off if you decide to follow the plan laid out to you by successful marketers. Now, make a Budget. How much can you spend for direct mail advertising, for example, or for someone to write articles for you? Check out the options that came with your product. If you go for Pay-per-click, expect to spend more. Or you can use search engine optimization. Keep track of your expenditures. One major reason people fail in business is Time Management. You must spend a lot of time at first with each product. You need to focus on what has to be done, write it down in a list, and check off what you have finished. Focus on your business, because that is what it is, and no one else can run your business for you. You have to put in uninterrupted time and work. And last is Determination and Perseverence. If you are not determined and do not persevere, you will not succeed. But if you put the above principles into practice, you too will make money on the Internet. Just do it, one step at a time. If you want a really good idea about where to begin, good information and great training, follow the link in the resource box and begin. Just Do It!
