Are You Prepared To Pay The Price With Your Health If You Don't Exercise?
Many of us plan financially for the future and make an effort to save money to make sure our needs will be taken care of but where does our health and wellness fit into this future planning? Do we each accept that how we fare in the last 10 -20 years of our life mostly depends on what we do and don't do every day of our lives before that time comes?
Take for example, exercise...
It sure makes sense to invest some time each week, maybe 2-3 hours in a proper exercise program that contains strength training could pay huge dividends later in life. To ensure you are strong, energetic, healthy and disease free right through your life you need to be preparing now. You may ask yourself "what am I doing today that will ensure a functional future for myself?"
A century ago life was very different in that most people had to be very physically active just to meet the daily demands of life. Our modern day lives require little to no physical "work" or vigorous movement on a daily basis. Yet without this movement in our lives there is no way for the human body to get the chemical signals it needs to stimulate the repair and renewal of all body cells. This is the only way we can stay healthy.
Our bodies are not programmed for this lack of movement so somehow we each have to replace this loss with intentional exercise if we wish to stay alive and well. With all of the information available today in the media, on television and on the internet no one can say that they are not aware of the importance of keeping their strength and fitness right throughout life.
We do all really know that exercise is good for us, but sometimes our vision gets clouded and we lose track of what is really important. But what could be more important than our health?
When strength and fitness are lost, the human body starts are downward spiral of declining health and the risk of being struck with some life threatening disease becomes more likely. If we have not made our exercise program a priority previously how will we cope with being forced to make our poor health a priority?
How much hassle, aggravation and inconvenience would we then experience? How much time, energy and money will be needed then with doctors visits, hospitals, specialists, treatments (if these things will help). What about the emotional stress, the worry, fear and anxiety that a dreadful diagnosis that could cut a life short would bring?
Building strength can be one of the healthiest things one can do for one's body yet some two thirds of us don't even bother to exercise properly. Somehow we have got it all wrong as in today's fast-paced society many people spend most of their time trying to accumulate self-wealth instead of self-health.
They lose their focus on what is really important because, in the long run, it is health that ultimately determines how long one stays employed in the workforce, and whether one can continue to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle for a very long time.
If you are thinking about putting off exercise for another day, think again about what you could be paying in health returns in the long-run when your health begins to unravel. If you start treating your health as an investment in your future, it could end up paying you a far greater dividend than any financial investment you could ever make.
In our modern world millions of people have an exercise deficiency and millions of people are dying from this deficiency. Do what is necessary to avoid being one of them.
