Are Zhu Zhu Hamsters Any Good?

Any parent will be hearing the dreaded Zhu Zhu pets hamsters words on a pretty much consistent basis at the moment. You would have to be living under a rock and have no children to have avoided being bombarded for requests for these pets for Christmas. They are taking the US by storm and it seems that almost every child wants at least one of them this year. But are they any good?

It seems that you really could do a lot worse with what you buy this Christmas. Most gifts contain little of any educational value but these do have a few plus points. Zhu Zhu pets can at least give our children the opportunity to see in part what it is like to look after small animals. Obviously it is not the same but they do go a little way to showing how to care for things like hamsters and guinea pigs. They are of a similar size and feel and can show children just how fast these small pets move but also how delicate little animals are.

There really are much worse gifts to buy and with the care that is shown by many children towards a Zhu pet they seem like a remarkably good idea. They are especially useful if your child has asked for a real hamster. Why not convince them to have one of these first so they can be monitored to see how well they can look after the real thing. No child will refuse it it makes for much less cleaning up on our part. Certainly something we can all be grateful for. These are just a few reasons why Zhu Zhu pets hamsters should be on everyones Christmas shopping list.
