Argentina Lifted Import Controls On Mobile Phone
Most mobile phone manufacturers with the local manufacturing facilities in order to meet South American market, but RIM's and Apple's terminal was fully import. Argentina forced to postpone the time to clear customs of mobile phone to 2-6 months. According to reports, about 60% of mobile phones sold in Argentina in 2010 are imported, mostly from Brazil and Asia, low-cost mobile phones, or other high-end BlackBerry and iPhone smartphones. Mid-enabled mobile phones are usually Huawei, Samsung LTN156AT05, LG and Motorola factories in the local assembly of imported components. The customs restrictions also apply to other consumer electronics, not just mobile phones.
