Article Marketing - 6 Things You Must Do Before You Mass Distribute Your Next Article

Mass distribution is a great way to free up your time and get your content all over the web in no time but it can also cause a few headaches. The problem with mass distribution is if you make a mistake in your article its on maybe 100 article directories and you’ve no way of getting it back to fix it.

Now, you could visit article directory individually and sort out your articles mistake but be honest who has the time or that much patience? So it’s very important that you take the extra time now to get all those problems ironed out before you click that submit button.


Here’s a quick checklist of what you need to keep an eye on….

1. Check Your Spelling - This is a big mistake that’s still being made in article marketing today and one thing we see every day at my own article directory. By having poor spelling and grammar in your article you don't make a very good impression on your reader. If your content is good your reader may forgive you, but with so much software both online and on your computer for doing a spell check there's no reason for letting this mistake happen.

2. Formatting – How does your article look? Is it made up of huge paragraphs with very little whiter space?

Anyone doing a quick scan would probably presume that your article is going to be a difficult read and move on, but by breaking your articles format down into smaller chunks you make it easier on the eye and easier to digest.

3. Resource box – Is the link in your article working properly? When you’ve spent so much time and now money getting your article online the last thing you want is a faulty hyperlink in your resource box that’s never going to send free traffic to your site.

4. Category – Have you selected the right category for your article? If it’s on the subject of dog food you don’t want to be putting it in the fashion category. You might think this is pretty obvious but believe me we see this mistake everyday.

By putting your article in the wrong category you’re going to miss your target market completely unless it either shows up in the search engines or someone happens to come across it by accident.

5. Keywords – Have you selected the right keywords to go with your article? This is another obvious mistake that can happen from time to time. By not using the right keywords with your article you’re going to lose out on extra traffic that comes from visitor using the search function in each article directory.

6. Should You Really Mass Distribute That Article? – Submitting articles can cost a few bucks especially if you haven't got it, so do you really need to submit all your articles?

If you’ve been using article marketing much you’ll know that there are some articles that just bomb and never go anywhere and there are other ones that really take off but how can you work out the goodies from the baddies?

But what you need to look for isn’t the obvious thing like how many page views your article has had. Article views are great the more the better but this isn’t what you want, what you’re after is traffic to your site. How can you tell by that?

Because your target audience has just shown you what articles they liked best. So now just roll them out to a mass audience, take those articles and submit them. This way you’re now saving both money and putting your best articles out there.

Now with the weaker ones you’re left with, why not take them and compare them with the best performing ones? What made the difference was its performance, was it a poor headline? poor content or a weak resource box?

Now tweak them and submit them again and see if you can make a difference to how well they perform and then when you’ve cracked it, take those article and them mass distribute them.

Don’t presume that once you’ve submitted your article for mass distribution that the service will sort out all those problems for you even simple things like spelling and grammar, they won’t. Its your article so you need to take care of these problems yourself first and when you do you’ll find even better results from your articles.
