Article Marketing – You Will Wish You Learned These 4 Secrets Years Ago
Notice how many people write articles these days? There are thousands and thousands of people who have written thousands of articles. So how can you get to the place of writing so many articles like the big boys?
1. Write every day - the first step to getting the benefits and name recognition that some of the top authors have is to write. That’s pretty simple, but it is where most people fail. Most people write just a handful of articles and then wonder why massive amounts of traffic are not flocking to their website. It is just does not work that way. If you want traffic coming to your website through article marketing, you have to submit articles every day.
2. Write what you know - if you are having a hard time writing an article, it is probably because you don’t know what you are writing about. When someone asks you about something you know a lot about, it is probably hard to keep you quiet. So if you just can’t seem to get that article written, you might be in over your head. Change to a subject you know more about, and the words will begin flowing in no time.
3. Write to teach - few things are more inspiring and encouraging than teaching someone. When you write your articles, write them from the perspective of the reader. Write what the reader wants to read. Write what will help the reader learn. If you write with the reader in mind, the reader will learn from your article and will probably see what else he can learn from you.
4. Write simply – when I first began writing articles, I wrote articles that were 500 – 1,000 words long. I quickly learned that it takes a long time to write articles that long, and many people won’t read long articles. Now when I write, I try to get to the point quickly. I usually use bullet points or a numbered list so that people can quickly break the article down into smaller parts. It is very discouraging to a reader to open an article and see lines and lines of writing with no paragraph breaks, headings, or bullet points. Instead, make your articles short (I aim for 300 – 400 words) and easy to read.
