Article Marketing. The Resource Box. A Time For Action.

In Article Marketing there are four main sections for each and every article. Some directories may miss one or merge two of them together but mostly you will find these four.

The Title
The Summary
The Main Body of the Article
The Resource Box

Part 4 - The Resource Box
This is the part of the article where you're allowed to sell yourself and your company or brand. It is usually separate from the main body of the article although some directories merge this with the main body of the article. It should consist of the following:

A description of yourself and/or your website.
A link to your website using your targeted keywords as anchor text.
A plain text link to your website.
A "Call to Action". This is where you suggest to the reader what they should do next.

You can then add any other bits of additional info such as details about any free downloads you may have.

The description should detail who you are, what your area of expertise is in relation to the article and also any appropriate background of yourself and your company or website.

The link to your website using anchor text will help with Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as well as providing a link to your site. The anchor text should be the keywords that you are targeting as part of your SEO agenda. If the article directory allows enough links then a link to your home page and an internal link should be used, such as, if you're offering a free eBook or download you could link directly to that page as well.

A plain text version of your website link. This enables people who don't want to click on the link in the article to copy and paste it from the resource box into their browser address bar.

The Call to Action is the important part. This is where you try to persuade the reader to progress to your site via the links provided. It should basically be an instruction on what to do, "Download our Free e-book" or "Click to Buy" are good examples. It should be descriptive but not too bullyish.

The Resource Box is your promotional flyer for your website. It's the encouragement for the client to click through to your site. If it's not done well then it's a wasted opportunity and it's also a wasted article. Use it wisely.
