Assessing Potential Wedding Locations

Getting married is an important landmark in your life. It can signify the end of one way of life and the start of a conjoined life together with the love your life in a ceremony before your friends, family and God declaring your love and lifelong intentions. Towards making this day a special and fun day, many couples spend months painstakingly planning every detail of their special day, from the flavor of cake to the music that will play as the bride walks down the aisle or dances the first dance with her new husband.

But perhaps the most important aspect of the planning is the location itself. Wedding locations are hard to choose because they can set the tone for the entire wedding and dictate if the ceremony will be formal or informal, large or small. So it is important to consider wedding locations with care and create the ceremony of your dreams around your choice.

Some couples choose destination ceremonies to create a relaxed and intimate affair that combines family bonding with an intimate ceremony, usually in a resort location on the beach. This of course can be an expensive option but many couples feel the money they spend on this fun and unforgettable ceremony narrows the guest list down to those friends and family members who truly want to be a part of their union ceremony.

If you have a large family and an even larger group of friends who you want to share your special day with and money is tight, a destination ceremony may be out of the question, but that doesn't mean you have to settle for wedding locations that are mundane or boring just because you won't be married on a cliff overlooking the sea or on a white sandy tropical beach somewhere.

Outdoor wedding locations are an option even if the location won't be a resort destination. However, outdoor ceremonies are generally only considered ideal for summer brides unless you live someplace where a Christmas wedding outside won't involve your guest turning blue to match your flowers and bridesmaid dresses.

If all else fails, you may even want to consider the merits of a wedding planner to help you find the perfect location for your ceremony to help ease some of the stress and pressure in finding the right spot. And if you're like most couples, you will probably find that when you find where you want the ceremony to take place, the rest of the details for your wedding day will just naturally fall into place as well to fit it.
