Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder Treatment - Good News And Bad News

Well, let's get the bad news out of the way first. Health authorities in UK and Europe (but not in the USA) seem to be agreed that food additives and colourings contained in kids' junk food such as candies, cereals and chips are harmful and may lead to an increase in hyperactivity and other behaviour disorders. As diet is one of the keys in attention deficit hyperactive disorder treatment, this is bad news for the USA as no such legislation is in force yet for phasing out these harmful food dyes.

More bad news is that girls are often just ignored when it comes to attention deficit hyperactive disorder treatment because only boys are expected to have ADHD ! But many girls who suffer from ADHD tend to have severe depression symptoms in their teens. They may become suicidal and suffer from eating disorders. This was revealed in a study by the University of Washington who studied 800 white teenagers.

When parents have to deal with disabilities such as ADHD, they are subject to greater stress than parents with normal children. The parents showed greater levels of stress on the days they spent more time with their children. Other studies have shown that parents with children who have disabilities are more likely to get divorced or separate, partly due to the enormous pressure they are under.

Now for some good news. Thousands of parents are wising up on attention deficit hyperactive disorder treatment and are refusing to accept the drug companies hogwash on some of the dangerous ADHD medications which are prescribed in massive numbers for our children. They are also now becoming more wary about the side effects these medications can have on their children. They also know that attention deficit hyperactive disorder treatment need not necessarily be medicated with amphetamines which are mind stimulants. They refuse to take it for granted that ADHD children need to suffer from this disorder also in adulthood.

The other good news is that with a combination therapy of natural medication ,diet, exercise, parental and school support and perhaps behaviour therapy, ADHD children can grow up to lead happy and successful lives. There is no need to see ADHD as a curse, it is just a condition and needs a bit of special attention. Many ADHD children are talented and there is no lack of intelligence among them although some may have learning disabilities. You can find out more about a natural attention deficit hyperactive disorder treatment which will ensure that you and your child can lead a much more tranquil existence.
