Audi Responds To Accusation That All Models Look The Same

Have you ever looked at two cars and found it nearly impossible to tell who made them unless you look at the emblem or name plate. Case in point: Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable. That is pretty commonplace when a car is produced by one parent company like Ford and Mercury. Audi makes three sedans, the A4, A6, and A8. If you were to look at all three of them side by side, you would not know which was which, unless you measured them end to end.

The accusation began when the newest A8 took on an eerily similar appearance to the A4. Things got worse when the A6 looked like both cars. Audi isn't the only automaker who seems to be phoning in their design work. BMW makes the most cookie-cutter looking sedans on the global market. Audi, unlike the stubborn fools from BMW, is planning a design overhaul, creating ''a set of individual themes for each of the three major model families.'' According to Audi design honcho Stefan Sielaff, ''the design details will be different.'' That statement is vague enough that you could probably read ''we don't know what we are going to do yet, but we are going to do something.''

Despite the recent uproar, no one can deny that Audi has been making handsome models in recent years. Of course, prospective buyers should compare Audi lease deals and/or Audi financing incentives before moving forward with their purchase.
