Audio On The Move

When Monday morning comes around it’s hard to get up and get going. After a weekend of relaxation and fun it’s back to the daily grind for most of us.

During the winter, certainly in the UK, it is even more difficult to ‘rise and shine’. It is often cold and damp, usually still dark, it’s no wonder you don’t want to get up! It’s a pity we have to go to work or we could do what so many animals do and hibernate. What a great idea to sleep through all the cold and bad weather and wake up in spring. But what would you miss; the first frost of the winter when everything sparkles like it has been coated in diamonds, the robins singing in your garden with their sweet song, the crisp, bright snowfall, building a snowman, sledging down a hill! How often do we look out and think it’s dull and miserable. We should look out and rejoice at the good things. We are so lucky in the UK to have changing seasons, each one different from the last. Maybe winter is not the best season but it does have its good points. Best of all it leads us to the next season, Spring!

Spring, with its new shoots sprouting through the frosty ground, it’s a new beginning. The days get longer and brighter and all around there is new life.

It gets warmer too, Monday morning doesn’t seem so bad, and it’s the dawn of a new day, new week and new season.

Spring turns into summer, when the days are warm and sultry and the air is heavy with the heady scents of flowers in bloom. Monday mornings are great! You just want to get out there and sit in the warm sunshine with your morning cuppa and you’re set up for the day!

Summer turns golden and leads us into autumn. There is a glow everywhere and we start lighting the fires and getting cosy again. The days start getting shorter and cooler and the last glimmers of summer drift away. Winter is around the corner again.

It’s Monday morning again but I’m not going to hibernate. I look out and see the robin at the bird table, the sparrows are giving him a hard time but he keeps coming back. I’m not giving in to winter, I’m going to put an Alarm Clock Radio on my Christmas list and wake up to music, I might even sing along, just like the robin.
